Docker Powered SAML Identity Provider How-To

Schools have an increasing number of online services they provide to their staff and students. Many services support the single sign on standard, SAML, for seamless login for users. However getting started with SAML is daunting, and most organizations resort to expensive solutions that have obvious drawbacks. Using 100% open source technology, the Peninsula School District has been able to capture 8 services under it’s SAML umbrella. These services give staff and students immediate and automatic access to the tools they need. Here we'll go over the basics of Docker, and take a look at the configuration files necessary for a working SAML environment powered by Shibboleth and CAS.
