SYN328 - Federated Authentication Service, SAML with XenApp and XenDesktop
New in XenApp and XenDesktop 7.8, Federated Authentication Service enables authentication from worlds outside the username/password/smartcard set supported by on-premises Active Directory. Federation allows third-party identity providers to control authentication, and provides a means for connecting users from partner companies to your infrastructure without having to join or cross trust domains.
In this session, you will learn:
- How NetScaler Gateway, StoreFront and the new Federated Authentication Service communicate with Microsoft Certificate Services and Active Directory to log users on based on identity statements from external identity providers
- How you can add code to StoreFront to expand basic logon to interrogate identity statements that enable or disable user privileges based on statements from the IdP
- Active Directory configuration requirements and security and scalability guidance for deploying the Federated Authentication Service
