Xamarin University Guest Lecture - Dominick Baier - OpenId Connect and OAuth
Modern identity & access control backends are based on OpenID Connect and OAuth 2.0. While there are many home-grown solutions out there to integrate mobile clients into such an architecture, the IETF just recently published RFC8252 (https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc8252) that contains specific guidance and best practices how to do that “right”. This specification is a bit involved if you are not a security expert, but luckily the certified IdentityModel.OidcClient library (https://github.com/IdentityMod....el/IdentityModel.Oid implements all the heavy lifting for you. In this lecture we will discuss the various aspects of token-based clients, have a look at the spec as well as use the above mentioned library to implements such a client in a few lines of code.
